Project Overview
The new Friess Family Rice Lake Community Campus is nearly complete. Construction of the campus began in the spring of 2009 on the same site as the current outdoor athletic facility. The campus includes:
- Synthetic football/soccer field
- Top-loading stadium seating 2,200 people
- Lighted baseball and softball fields (lights yet to be installed)
- 400-meter, nine lane rubber track
- Press boxes for the stadium as well as softball and baseball
- Multi-use practice field
- New plaza area with concessions
The facility is available to school district students, as well as community members. In addition, it is utilized by other area schools and for special events. These include: Rice Lake graduation, Drum and Bugle Corp. competition, and to host regional or sectional athletic events. This new complex is a true asset to our community.
The $3.7 million project was funded by $1.25 million from the Rice Lake Area School District, $562,000 from the City of Rice Lake, and money from local businesses and private donations, including a $500,000 contribution from Foster & Lynn Friess for the naming rights to the complex. We are currently fundraising to purchase lights for the baseball and softball fields. Our Bleacher Seat Campaign allows you to engrave text into each seat that you purchase i.e. your name, your family name, etc. By purchasing a seat, you will not only be giving back to the Rice Lake community; you will also be recognized for decades!
We invite you to visit the links in the menu to the left to learn more about the project and to join us in supporting it. This message brought to you by The Rice Lake Community Campus Coordinating Committee and The Rice Lake All-Sports Booster Club.
