Summer Academy
Welcome to Summer Academy!
We are excited to kick off another great year and we've been busy planning this year’s Summer Academy. We are happy to again have many popular class offerings, as well as new programs our families and students will enjoy.
From enhancing literacy and math skills to exploring technology, engineering, health and wellness or the arts, we are proud to offer opportunities for all students to extend their learning this summer. We feel we offer an outstanding Summer Academy experience because we have excellent teachers and great classes that keep our students active and engaged in learning!
Summer Academy is divided into two separate sessions, one will take place the last two weeks of June, the other will take place the last week of July and first week of August.
We provide FREE breakfast and lunch!
Registration Information
Online registration and class selection is open from Wednesday, April 1, 2026 through Friday, May 8, 2026. Classes are filled on a first come, first served basis. Remember, registration and class selection are two separate things that need to be completed for Summer Academy!
Non RLASD Student Enrollment
If a student is not currently enrolled/attending a school in the district, parents will need to fill out this online enrollment form specifically for Summer Academy (also linked above). Soon after submitting the enrollment form, the parent/guardian will receive an email with a username and password for their online Family Access account – They will need to use this account to complete the “registration” and “class schedule” steps in this document.
Tuition for non-resident students is $230 per student per session.

Seeing Busing Info in Family Access -
The Rice Lake Area School District has approximately 700 students enrolled in Summer Academy. There will be approximately seven bus routes throughout the district during the Summer Academy session.
Routes and pick up points may be different than during the normal school year.
A few reminders about Transportation from the Rice Lake Bus Garage:-
For parents who wish to have busing service, you will have the opportunity to request this service as part of the online registration process

Please fill out the transportation form during online registration even if you are transporting your own child to and from school

Door to door pick up / drop off is not possible due to fewer routes being ran for Summer School

Transportation requests / changes can not be taken over the phone

Same day changes are not possible
You may log in to your family access account and find your busing info there. Follow this link for directions on how to view your bus information in family access.
If you need to make changes to your child(ren)s busing, please fill out the Summer Academy Transportation Request Form. If you have busing questions, please call the Rice Lake Bus Garage at 715-234-2038.
Parents providing their own transportation for their children may drop students off after 7:45 am. Please do not drop off your child(ren) before this time. There is not adequate supervision for students prior to 7:45 am.
Students who are not riding the bus should be dropped off and picked up in the parent pick-up lane in front of Hilltop Elementary.
