Section 504

Section 504

Section 504 is a federal civil rights law that prohibits discrimination against individuals with disabilities. It ensures that students with disabilities have equal access to education. To support this, a Section 504 team, led by one of our school counselors, develops an individual accommodation plan outlining the supports, accommodations, and modifications a student may need. While similar to an Individualized Education Program (IEP), a Section 504 plan does not include specialized instruction or academic goals.

A student may be referred for a Section 504 evaluation at any time by completing a referral form and submitting it to a school administrator or school counselor. Click below to access the referral form.
